Activities for Non Skiers in La Tania

Located on the eastern edge of France, near the borders of Switzerland and Italy, the Courchevel region is one of the best places to book a ski chalet. La Tania, one of the most popular villages in the Three Valleys, is an excellent place to stay when you want a winter holiday to accommodate those who ski as well as those who don't.

In terms of stay in a delightful chalet, La Tania is an obvious choice. The village itself has a traffic free centre, which makes it a lovely place to stroll around just soaking in the ambience. The resort was created for the 1992 Albertville Olympics, and even though the focus is, naturally, on the fantastic skiing opportunities, it also boasts plenty to do for those who can't or don't want to ski.

See the Mountains

From your base in a comfortable chalet, La Tania can be explored in many different ways. For the ultimate sightseeing experience, why not book a helicopter flight over the iconic Mont Blanc? Rising some 4,810 metres, Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in the Alps, and in fact in Europe. As well as the summit of Mont Blanc you'll be able to view the spectacular Tarentaise Valley.

For those who like a bit of adventure, bundle up and try paragliding! You'll be fully taken care of by a seasoned expert and it's a completely unique way to see the beauty of the mountains - and one you won't soon forget!

Skidooing and Husky Rides

When you want to get out and explore at ground level, husky rides or skidooing are both fabulous activities that can be undertaken from around your chalet. La Tania is the perfect place to take your first skidoo trip; either with an expert companion guide or riding your own skidoo, you can head out on trails to parts of the region that skiers can't access. Be warned though - this activity is not for the faint hearted.

For something completely different, consider a husky ride! This is also sometimes called dog trekking or dog sledding, but you're guaranteed a ton of fun no matter what you call it. You'll be strapped in for the time of your life behind a team of well-trained dogs; all you need to do is wrap up warmly, sit back and enjoy the ride

Snowshoeing

Though it may seem akin to skiing, snowshoeing is very different in that it allows you to take in the trails at your own pace. Within easy access of your chalet, La Tania has a wealth of trails just waiting to be explored. Strap on your snowshoes and either head out independently or with a guide who can tell you all about the area and the wildlife that you may see along the way. Snowshoeing really is a great way to get out and about to enjoy the beauty of this spectacular region.
